CALEL BAKER WHEELER Mrs. Calel Baker Wheeler, 89, of Temple died Friday July 19, 2007 in a Temple Nursing Center. Services for Mrs. Wheeler will be at 2:00 PM Saturday July 21, 2007 at the Western Hills Church of Christ with Minister Scott Meyer and David Kneip officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Temple on November 5, 1917 to Guy Homer and Mary Winnie Bond Baker. She was a 1934 graduate of Temple High School, Temple Junior College, and Abilene Christian College in 1938. She was a member of the Western Hills Church of Christ and was a homemaker. She married Charles A. Wheeler, Jr. on November 5, 1938 and was married to him for 56 years. Survivors include her children, Carol Anne Wheeler Posey of Rotan, Texas, Charles A. Wheeler III, Cathy Wheeler Kneip, and Douglas Wheeler, all of Temple; a sister Doris Helen McQueen of Fort Worth; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Wheeler, Jr. in 1995; her parents of Temple; one brother Glenn Homer Baker of Temple; 4 sisters Sophenia Hastings, Lonea Baker and Mary Janice Gunn all of Temple, Aureba Martin of Abilene; one son in law Richard Posey of Rotan and one grandson in law Mike Osborn of Spring, Texas Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3429 Executive Center Drive., Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78731.
