

Carol Lavendusky Henderson, age 75 of Temple, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Steve Sauser as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Mrs. Henderson was born December 5, 1939 in Temple to Louis and Lessie Klecka Lavendusky. She graduated from Temple High School in 1957. While in high school she developed a love for the game of tennis as well as other sports. She attended Durham Business College. She worked in the family business, Lavendusky Grocery Store, since childhood. She bought the business from her mother and ran it successfully for ten years. She then went to work for Manpower, Inc. as a staffing specialist and was an excellent producer. She brought in over one million dollars in sales for five consecutive years. She delighted in her sons and their families and was most happy when she was around her grandchildren, family and friends. She loved cooking and canning and furnished friends and family with delicious jellies, jams and pickles. She was an excellent gardener and raised many of the foods she needed in her canning. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Jeffrey Ryan Henderson. Survivors include her husband, Clifton Henderson of Temple, sister, Jacqueline Sanderson of Temple, three sons, Cliff Henderson and wife, Melanie, Dennis Henderson all of Temple and Jeff Henderson and wife, Pamela of Las Vegas, Nevada, five granddaughters, Jordan Henderson, Sarah Henderson, Allison Henderson, Shelby Wilkinson and Presley Henderson and three grandsons, James Wilkinson, Jeremy Wilkinson and Logan Henderson and one great-granddaughter, Cambrie Wilkinson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's School Trust Fund, 1018 S. 7th Street, Temple, TX 76504.
