
Caroline M. Bierwirth, age 82, of Temple died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 in a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 7, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Thomas Allen officiating. Private burial will be in Colorado. Visitation will be 5 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Bierwirth was born November 19, 1924 in Blackhawk, Colorado to Matthew and Caroline Ress Casagranda. She was reared and educated in Blackhawk and was a graduate of St. Anthony's Hospital School of Nursing in Denver. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She married Chris Bierwirth on April 11, 1966 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They had been residents of Temple for the past 40 years. She was a Registered Nurse for over 50 years. Mrs. Bierwirth was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder. She was also a member of the board of directors of the Temple Area Santa Fe Credit Union. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Brad Svalberg and wife, Nancy of Connecticut, Matthew Bierwirth and wife, Meg of Waco, two daughters, Sandy Svalberg and husband, Dee Rosen of Houston and Margo Bierwirth-Wyatt and husband, Rick Wyatt of Temple and one sister, Milda Hayden of Wyoming. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Ben and Greta Svalberg, Noah, Gabe, Timothy and Matthew Bierwirth and Mara, Minda and Mia Wyatt.
