Carolyn Devine Blackwell

Funeral services for Carolyn Devine Blackwell 65 of Troy will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Troy Church of Christ with H.K. Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Blackwell died Tuesday in a Temple hospital. Mrs. Blackwell was born March 9, 1945 in Delhi, Louisiana to Rosco and Mae Taylor McCoy. She moved to Killeen at an early age and graduated from Killeen High School. She married Jack Blackwell March 10, 1961. They were planning their 50th Wedding Anniversary next month. She was a telephone operator and supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone. She moved to Troy 21 years ago. She was a member of Troy Church of Christ; the Rainbow Girls and did volunteer work at Troy Schools securing school supplies for children. Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by one son Chadwick Bazel Blackwell. Survivors include her husband Jack Blackwell of Troy; two daughters Darlene Cox and her husband Chuck of Temple and Shanee Brewer and her husband Bo of Killeen; one brother Rocky McCoy of Belton; one sister Joyce McCoy of Rhode Island; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
