Cassandra Ernsbarger

Cassandra Ernsbarger, age 69, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, in Round Rock, Texas. She was born on August 4, 1957, in Houston, Texas, the beloved daughter of Harry Earl Browning and Virginia Matilda (Esper) Browning.

Cassandra was a caregiver in every sense of the word. She gave of herself without hesitation, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether caring for family, friends, or even animals, Cassandra loved deeply and fiercely. She was the steady hand, the listening ear, and the guiding heart—the person others could turn to for comfort, wisdom, and strength. She was the glue that held her family together, and her presence brought a sense of comfort that could be felt even in the quietest moments.

Perhaps her greatest legacy is seen in her daughters, Meghan and Mary. The strength, independence, compassion, and character they carry are a reflection of the values Cassandra instilled in them and the love she so freely gave. She was always determined that her family would have more—more love, more opportunities, more peace, and more happiness—than she ever asked for herself. In that, she succeeded beyond measure.

Cassandra had a strong and vibrant faith in Jesus Christ. She had a passion to study the Bible and to share her faith in Jesus with others. While she lived in Brookfield, WI, she was an active member of Spring Creek Church. Upon moving to Georgetown, TX, she was a faithful attendee of Hill Country Bible Church in Georgetown, Texas.

She built an exceptional career in the airline industry before devoting herself as a stay-at-home mom. After graduating from Texas State University with a B.S. in Business, she began her career with Texas International Airlines in Customer Service, then Production Control at the Houston Hobby maintenance base. She later served as Technical Publications Manager and IT Manager for Continental Airlines. Her dedication, intelligence, strong work ethic, and unwavering integrity earned her the respect and admiration of those who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Above all, Cassandra treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud Gigi. She shared 37 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Steven, and together they built a family grounded in love, devotion, and lasting memories.

Cassandra is survived by her husband, Steven; her daughters, Meghan Murphy and husband Ryan of Belton, and Mary Rice and husband Jonathan of Waco; and her five beloved grandchildren, Nathan, Honora, Benjamin, Emerson, and Crawford, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride. She is also survived by her brother Harry E. Browning, Jr. and wife Jenny of Pasadena, Texas, a sister-in-law Gloria Morpheu of Roseburg, Oregon, and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Rhys Murphy; her parents, Harry Earl Browning and Virginia Matilda Browning; and her brother, Michael Morpheu.

Cassandra will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, strength, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will remain a lasting part of the lives she touched. Though she is no longer beside her family, the love she gave so freely will continue through her daughters, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Temple Bible Church, 3205 Oakview Drive, Temple, Texas. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

A private family burial will take place at North Belton Cemetery where she will be laid to rest near her grandson, Rhys Murphy.
