Charles Maynard Sheppard

Funeral services for Charles Maynard Sheppard, age 78 of Temple, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with the Revs. Jim Guess, Jackie Cox and John Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Pendleton Cemetery. Mr. Sheppard died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Sheppard was born July 26, 1932 in Rogers, Texas to the late Virgil Carroll Sheppard and Jennie A. Davis Sheppard. He grew up in Rogers and attended Temple schools. Charles married Brooksie Nell Cox on July 24, 1954 in Temple. Charles was a minister in the Temple area and pastored churches in Bellmead and Killeen. He also loved doing carpentry work. Charles was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Troy, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Brooksie Sheppard of Temple; two sisters, Gladys Forrest and husband C.H. of Hurst, Texas and Ellen Faye Skidmore of Ohio; and one brother, James Sheppard and wife Nancy of San Antonio, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
