Charles Svoboda, age 66, of Moffat died Thursday, January 12, 2006 in a local nursing home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 16, at East Highway Baptist Church with Rev. Ernest Thompson and Rev. Steve Desjardins officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be 2 - 4 PM Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Svoboda was born August 29, 1939 in Bartlett to Albin Ernest and Stella Elsie Franz Svoboda. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. He was a member of East Highway Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mae S. Svoboda of Moffat, son, Charles (Chuck) Svoboda of Kerrville and daughter, Diane Gomez of Thrall, three stepsons, Charlie Cook, Robbie Cook and Chris Cook all of Albany, Georgia and stepdaughter, Tina Crawford of Denver, Colorado. Also surviving are two brothers, Ernest Svoboda of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Dwight Svoboda of Copperas Cove and sister, Marcella Karl of Holland, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorials may be made to East Highway Baptist Church.
