Chelsea Lauren Bownds

Memorial services for Chelsea Lauren Bownds, 22, of Belton will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Shannon Hartmann officiating. Miss Bownds died Monday at her residence. Miss Bownds was born August 29, 1990 in Vicenza, Italy to Brian and Donna M. Netherland Bownds, where she joined her older sister Jessica. At the age of two the family moved to Temple. Chelsea attended Temple schools and graduated from Temple High School in 2008. She was a member of Temple High School Kittens in 2006 and 2007. Chelsea attended UT Arlington and UT San Antonio before her cancer diagnosis caused her to return home. After her first fight with cancer she was able to return to school at UMHB before the cancer returned. She has been blessed with many loving friends and family and was especially close to her sister Jessica, her niece Jayden and her best friends Sarah Gillespie and Erin Cicer. Survivors include her parents Brian Keith Bownds and Donna Marie Netherland Bownds of Belton; her sister Jessica Riane Bautista of Temple; niece Jayden Rose Bautista of Temple; brother-in-law Joshua Bautista of Temple; grandparents Jim Netherland of Columbia, Tennessee, Linda Crain of Danville, Kentucky and Robert and Gerry Bownds of Hayward, California; great grandparents Kyle and Marie Crain of Danville, Kentucky and James and Beulah Netherland of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
