A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 12:30pm at Calvary Chapel Temple, 2613 Bearing Ln Temple, Texas 76504 (254-217-4649)
Born in Clarkston, Washington, to Jewel and Elizabeth Parr, Cliff moved to Seattle in 1957, where he would later meet the love of his life, Karen. They married in 1973 and shared 52 beautiful years together.
Above all things, Cliff was a devoted husband and father. Placing God at the head of his marriage, he led by example and dedicated every aspect of his life to demonstrating what it means to follow Jesus, by being a good husband and father—living with self-accountability, love, compassion, kindness, and a giving heart. As a husband, Cliff was deeply in love with Karen and spent every day of his life nurturing their relationship and bringing joy to her world.
Cliff began his career at Boeing in 1986 as a janitor and, through hard work and determination, retired in 2015 as a journeyman electrician. In retirement, nothing brought him more joy than embracing the role of “Gramps”, helping his boys with projects around the house and serving in the church.
He is survived by his beloved wife Karen Parr; sons Jonathan Parr and David Parr; daughter-in-law Robin Parr; siblings Shella Manning, Vincent Jones, Kelly Sluiter and Alice Cooper; grandchildren Zach Poelker, Cass Poelker, Bailee Poelker; great grandchildren Wren Wilson, and King Stoutamire; numerous nieces and nephews who adored him and our 2nd family, the entire Spies family. He joins his siblings who preceded him in death, Bill Parr, Patricia Stovall, and Sheila Jones in heaven.
Cliff was a man of deep knowledge and a history buff who was often referred to as a walking encyclopedia. His passion for music, especially The Beatles, was matched only by his love for football. Saturdays were reserved for cheering on his beloved Washington Huskies, while Sundays were spent rooting for the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks.
Admired by all who knew him, he will be remembered for his faith in God, wisdom, humor, and the unwavering love he gave to his family and friends. Cliff’s legacy lives on in the stories he told, the lessons he shared, and the lives he touched.
