

Clyde S. P. Sowers, age 47 of Temple, died Sunday, March 23, 2014. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 12:00 P.M. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Scanio-Harper Funeral. Private family burial will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen on Monday, March 31, 2014. Clyde was born on January 17, 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland to Daniel L. Sowers and Althea Pyle Sowers. He graduated from Temple High School in 1985. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1999. Clyde married Chevelle Brady on December 19, 1998 in Temple. He was a captain with Scott and White Security at the time of his death. Clyde loved the carving, the outdoors, hiking, making knives and flint knapping. Clyde was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Chevelle Sowers of Temple; parents, Daniel and Althea Sowers of Temple; daughters, Brandie Winegar and husband Corey of Utah and Tasha Whiteley of Temple; sons, Joshua Schofield and Brandon Schofield, both of Alaska, Shane Sowers and Seth Sowers, both of Temple; a sister, Angela Pearce and husband Scott of Sachse, Texas; a brother, David Sowers and wife Carolyn of Arizona; and numerous grandchildren and friends.
