Col. Luciana Jarma, age 95, of Temple passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at a local care center. She was born on January 6, 1921 in Holland, Texas, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Jarma. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. with the Rosary being said at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple. Burial with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Luciana graduated from Academy High School, then went to Kings Daughters Hospital School of Nursing, received a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of the Incarnate Word, went to the United States Army and entered the Nursing Corps during WWII and stayed in the Army for 30 plus years retiring as a Colonel in 1973. She is survived by her sister Pauline Jarma of Temple and several cousins. In lieu of flowers memorials to the St. Mary's Building Fund 1018 S. 7th Temple, Texas 76504 would be appreciated.
