Dan had the ability to engage anyone in a discussion. He cared about people and months later could give a person’s life story even though he had met them only once. He had participated in the Temple Police Ride Along Program and had many good memories of that time. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Kathleen Halka, M.D. who treated Dan through his cancers. Her unwavering care and patience gave Dan and Sharon the ability to face each day. Dan’s clinic visits had to be scheduled in the late afternoon so the two of them could visit. Her daily visits during his final hospital stay were greatly appreciated and comforting.
