Darvin L. Yount

Darvin L. Yount, age 85, of Temple passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 13 at Grace Baptist Church in Salado with Rev. Steve Waechter and Rev. Dennis Spires officiating. Burial will follow at Salado Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Yount was born on April 6, 1926 in Thrall to John E. and Sula Alice (Waters) Yount. He was reared and educated in Thrall and Leander. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during WWII. He married Dorothy Marie Moore on August 21, 1946 in Georgetown. They have been residents of Temple over 40 years. He owned and operated Yount Sewer and Drain Service from 1982 until his retirement. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Salado. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Yount of Temple, one son, Jerry Yount and wife, Debbie of Jacksonville, Florida and one daughter, Debbie Mabry and husband, Eddie of Salado. Also surviving are six grandchildren, J. D. Yount, Lewie Yount, Michelle Yount, Ashley Yount, Wesley Mabry and Cody Mabry and nine great-grandchildren, Hope, Tyler, Destiny, Danielle, Samantha, Trey, Holden, Candace and Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.
