Daryl was born on September 12, 1960, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Donald and Joyce (Lutz) Rodman. He grew up in Sioux Falls and attended Washington High School. Over the years, he lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Van Buren, Arkansas, and Belton, Texas.
On May 26, 1984, Daryl married the love of his life, Rhonda Ann (Reilly) Rodman, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories.
Daryl was a man of many passions, and one of his greatest joys was creating a peaceful backyard oasis for his family. With his talent as a master craftsman, he transformed his outdoor space into a personal sanctuary—a place where loved ones could relax, gather, and make lasting memories. This haven reflected his creativity, hard work, and deep love for providing comfort and joy to those closest to him. Daryl had a fun-loving spirit that gave laughter and joy to everyone he met. He loved motorcycles, with rock and roll music often providing the soundtrack to his adventures, fueling his passion for life. His career as a truck driver was a source of great pride; he earned a prestigious 2-million-mile safe driving award and enjoyed participating in Dallas truck shows throughout his career. Most recently, he worked for Truck Works hauling large mobile homes across the southern states.
Above all else, Daryl was a devoted family man who treasured time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda; his father Donald “Don” Rodman; his sons, Casey Lee Rodman and his girlfriend Lara Cockrell and Justin Michael Rodman and his wife Angeles Rodman; his brothers Jeff Rodman and Paul Rodman; and his beloved grandchildren Harvey Wayne Rodman and Lennox Galileo Rodman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Rodman.
A celebration of Daryl’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Daryl’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy of love and dedication bring comfort to those he leaves behind.
