A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Scanio Harper Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at Bellwood Memorial Park
David was born to Samuel Elton and Thelma Lorene Carter on October 14, 1948, in Temple, Texas. He attended Temple High school where he played Wildcat football. He then went on to attend Baylor University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1971.
After college, he found his way back to Temple, where he opened his own business. Once he retired, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of buying a house on Lake Buchanan.
David was preceded in death by his two loving parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Carter Perry of Georgetown, Texas and his brother Samuel Russell Carter and his wife, Debbie of Temple, Texas, and his nephew Zach Carter and his wife, Emily of Austin, Texas.
