

David was born on July 31, 1958, in St. Charles, Illinois, to Glenn Russell and Roberta Marie (Thorne) Stolp. He graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton, Illinois. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1978 until 1982. During his time stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Angelika Hurst, and the two were united in marriage.
After his military service, David continued his education and earned a degree from Central Texas College. He dedicated many years to public service as a mechanic for the City of Harker Heights, where he faithfully worked for 24 years before retiring in 2017.
David was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple and was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council #3444. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. Some of his most cherished moments were spent on fishing trips with his grandson, Russell Cameron.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angie Stolp of Temple; daughters, Jessica Stolp and husband Ivan Zapatero of Trinity, Texas, and Monica Stolp of San Marcos, Texas; sisters, Donna Schlaeger of Temple, Deanne Leonard of Temple, Debbie Stolp of Temple, Diane Chadwick and husband Earl of Temple, and Linda Williams and husband Leo of Temple; brother, Dale Stolp of Troy, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will greatly miss him.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Brandon Stolp.
David will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the joy he found in the simple moments spent outdoors with those he loved.
