Delane Sonnenburg, age 80 of Temple, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 27th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Jonathan Mellette officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sonnenburg was born August 28, 1937 in Troy to Oscar and Madge Mayo Sonnenburg. He graduated from Troy High School and attended Temple Junior College. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He married Johnnie Phillips on June 3, 1969. They have been longtime members of Oak Park United Methodist Church. He was a devoted volunteer of Churches Touching Lives for Christ. He was a retired truck driver for Wilsonart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee Dean Sonnenburg. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Sonnenburg and his sister, Paula Hastings of Morgan’s Point Resort.
