Born in West, Texas, Dorothy was the daughter of Valerian Joseph Sulak and Anna Picha Sulak. She was raised with strong values of faith, family, and devotion that remained the foundation of her life. Dorothy was the youngest of seven children, all of whom preceded her in death: Marcella Sulak Kucera, V.A. Sulak, C.J. Sulak, Wesley Sulak, Annie Sulak Doskocil and Josephine Sulak Young.
At the age of 18, Dorothy married the love of her life, Ralph Arnold, on September 28, 1957, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West, Texas. Together they built a life centered on faith and family, sharing nearly seven decades of marriage.
Dorothy was a devoted homemaker and took great pride in her roles as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, and her family still fondly recalls the meals she lovingly prepared. Some of their most cherished memories are the birthday calls and messages she never failed to make—always thinking of others first.
A deeply caring person, Dorothy made it a point to stay close to her family. Her messages were filled with warmth, often reminding those she loved to keep God first, to take care, and always ending with “I love you.”
A lifelong and devout Catholic, Dorothy lived her faith daily. Following her marriage, she became a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple, Texas, where she remained an active and faithful parishioner for almost 70 years.
Dorothy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, and the gentle, steady presence she brought to those around her.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph Arnold; three daughters, Denise (Mark) Murray, Deanna (Roy) Robinson, and Diane Young; five grandchildren, Cody (Alma) Murray, Cory (Angelica) Murray, Kylie Robinson, Katie (Jacob) Wilk, and Faith (Kendall) Deleon; three great-grandchildren, Aiden Murray, Sophie Murray, and Liam Murray, with additional great-grandchildren to be announced.

A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple, Texas.

She lived her faith every day and now rests in the peace of the Lord, while her words— “I love you” and “be careful”—will forever echo in the hearts of her family.
