Dorothy B. Lock Measels

Dorothy B. Lock Measels, age 90 of Temple, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Magnolia, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 13th at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Measels was born March 23, 1925 in Yarrellton to William G. and Mattie Blansett Lock. She graduated from Rosebud High School. She married John S. Measels on January 19, 1945. She had lived in Temple over 60 years. She was a member of Heights Baptist Church, Central Texas Sportsman's Club, V. F. W. Auxiliary Post 1820, American Legion Auxiliary Post 133 and C.T.L.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, G. W. Lock and two sisters, Martha Philley and Joyce Hitchman. Survivors include one son, Ed Measels and wife, Janet of Temple, one daughter, Judy Williams of Magnolia, two grandsons, Dale Measels and Michael Williams, one granddaughter, Sarah Adams and four great-grandchildren, Kaley, Emily, Dayton and Nathaniel. Also surviving are two sisters, Maye Rea of Temple and Bell Copeland and husband, R. L. of Salado. Memorial donations may be made to C.T.L.C. (Churches Touching Lives for Christ).
