Born on October 8, 1942, in the Bottoms Community of East Bell County, Texas, she was the daughter of Aubrey W. Lancaster and Frances Gilliam Lancaster. Dottie grew up with strong family values and a caring spirit that would define the way she lived her life.
On July 20, 1968, in Temple, Texas, she married the love of her life, Jerry Foshee. Together they shared many wonderful years of marriage until his passing on January 24, 2020. Their love and devotion to one another served as an example to all who knew them.
Dottie earned her associate degree and devoted more than forty years of faithful service as an Executive Assistant for Cloud Construction in Temple before her retirement. She was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and warm personality.
She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple, Texas. Dottie found joy in life’s simple blessings, and especially loved caring for her plants and spending peaceful afternoons sitting on her patio enjoying their beauty. She cherished the monthly cousin luncheons where laughter, stories, and lifelong memories were shared among family. One of her greatest joys was the almost daily tradition of heading out with her grandson for a Chick-fil-A ice cream treat.
More than anything, Dottie will be remembered for her servant’s heart. She was a true caregiver who constantly placed the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love touched countless lives, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her son, Darren Foshee and wife Kathy of Temple; daughter, Shelli Walker of Temple; grandchildren, Aubrey Walker, Caleb Popelka and wife Lauren, Micah Popelka and wife Dani, and Blake Popelka and wife Aubrey; and by her sister, Wanda Lancaster of Temple.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Foshee, and by her parents, Aubrey and Frances Lancaster.
