

Douglas Lee Hardin, of Temple, Texas, and formerly of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on August 11, 2026, at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Sharon (Roberson) Hardin; daughter Allyson (Hardin) Irom (Benjamin Irom); son Jay Hardin (Roopali Hardin Desai); and five granddaughters: Eden and Elana Irom and Avni, Neera, and Raya Hardin. Doug is also survived by siblings Raymond, Philip, Richard, and Carol (Hardin) Page, and aunts Martha Beal, Donna Butler, and JoAnn Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmas and Pauline (Butler) Hardin, and brother, Gary Hardin.
Born in Clarksville, Arkansas, Doug graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1960. He served for ten years on the Board of the Central Arkansas Transit Authority. He sang in the choir at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and served as the church’s director of acolytes. Doug enjoyed performing in operas at Wildwood Park for the Arts. During his Army service, he assisted the Chaplain’s Office and sang in the men’s chorus. In more recent years, Doug continued to support the arts in Temple, Texas.
