Dustin Brion Merrell

Memorial services for Dustin Brion Merrell, 46, of Temple will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 15, 2017 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Merrell died Friday December 1, 2017 at a local hospital. Mr. Merrell was born January 9, 1971 in Lubbock. He grew up in the Temple and Plano and attended school in the Dallas area. He was employed by TNC Men’s Stores in Irving for a number of years before moving back to Temple where he was employed by Nex-Tel in Temple for many years.  He married Joni Maples February 8, 2002. Mr. Merrell was preceded in death by his grandfather Alvin Buford. Survivors include his wife Joni Merrell of Temple; his daughter Austen Merrell of Temple his son Joshua Merrell of Temple; his father Larry Merrell of Temple; his mother Judy Cannon and her husband Glenn Cannon of Hubbard; his mother-in-law Barbara Maples of Temple; grandparents Wynell and Earl Duncan of Temple; aunt and uncle Lana and John Darbyshire of Temple and Linda and Frank Smith of Jacksonville, Florida and numerous cousins, nephews and extended family members.Following the service a reception will be held at First Christian Church of Belton Fellowship Hall.
