

Eldo Johnson, age 81, of Temple died Friday, March 4, 2011 in a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 7 at First United Methodist Church in Temple with Rev. Tom Robbins officiating. Private family burial will be held at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born November 16, 1929 in Temple to Quitney William and Annie Elizabeth (Crawford) Johnson. He graduated from Temple High School and attended Texas Tech University. He was a former resident of Fort Worth and San Antonio and resided most of his life in Temple where he was in the insurance business. He retired in 1994. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a past president of Temple ISD, Temple Chamber of Commerce, Temple Kiwanis Club and a former vice president of Cater Elementary. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his four sons, Brad Johnson of Dallas, Kirby Johnson and wife, Kim of Temple, Kyle Johnson and wife, Amy and Joel Johnson and wife, Shari all of Orlando, Florida, 12 grandchildren, Justin Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Tara Campbell, Tanner Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Nick Johnson, Ben Johnson, Grace Johnson and Jacob Johnson and four great-grandsons, Kade Sanchez, Jay Johnson, Carson Campbell and Carter Johnson. Also surviving is one brother, Elbert Johnson and wife, Francene of Haskell, Texas. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Goolsby, Laurens Johnson, Bobby Dillon, Allen Winters and Keifer Marshall. Memorial donations may be made to Ralph Wilson Youth Club or Methodist Children's Home in Waco.
