Elenora M. Kleypas

Elenora M. Kleypas, age 87, of Temple died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 2 at St. Luke's Catholic Church with Rev. Don Loftin as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with visitation to follow. Mrs. Kleypas was born on August 29, 1923 in Westphalia to Richard and Anne (Karnowski) Hollas. She graduated from Yoe High School in Cameron in 1940. She attended Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Waco graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1944. While a student, she was a member of the U. S. Cadet Peace Corps. In 1944, she married Raymond F. Sutter of Pilot Point with whom she had three children. As an Air Force wife, she lived in numerous states in the United States and also joined her husband on a tour of duty in post-war Japan. Raymond preceded her in death in 1958. She married James M. Kleypas of Temple in 1960. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 23 years at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, retiring in 1984. During her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed being with family and traveling. In addition to her first husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bernadette Hanel, brother-in-law, Anton Hanel and sister-in-law, Shirley Hollas. Survivors include her husband, James M. Kleypas of Temple, one son, Paul Sutter and wife, Becky of Belton, two daughters, Joyce Haire of Salado and Janice Mincy and husband, Doug of Katy, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two brothers, George Hollas and wife, Eleanor and Louis Hollas all of Cameron, one sister, Aileen Beck and husband, Doug of Temple, two aunts, Regina Pierce of Dallas and Ann Hollas of Victoria and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bradley Sutter and Jason Sutter, great grandsons, Eric Walker, Jimi Ferrell-Raborn, Christopher Quinn and Cody Monk. Memorial gifts may be made to Scott & White Hospice.
