Esther Jacinta Hernandez

A Mass of Christian Burial for Esther J. Hernandez, 69, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday January 16, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Steve Saucer officiating.  Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Hernandez died Friday at her residence. Mrs. Hernandez was born January 7, 1949 in Temple to Jacinto Resendez and Margarita Ortiz Resendez.  She attended Troy School.  She married Ernesto Hernandez, Sr. in 1965.  He preceded her in death April 17, 2007.  She was a housekeeper.  She lived in Temple her entire life and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.Mrs. Hernandez was also preceded in death by one sister Lily Monte Resendez and three brothers Luciano Resendez, Chris Resendez, Sr. and Jerry Resendez.  Survivors include three sons Ernest Hernandez, Jim Steven Hernandez and Joe Hernandez all of Temple; one daughter Gina Hernandez of Temple; four sisters Emma Naranjo, Veva Davila and Florence Resendez all of Temple and Maria Steele of Troy; three brothers Jesse Resendez of Moffat, Rosendo Resendez of Temple and Raymond Resendez of Troy; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
