Estherbell Caesar

Estherbell was born on Dec. 26, 1922 to Esther Partin Messer and Neal Edward Messer in Temple, Texas. She graduated from Temple High School in 1938, was Valedictorian from Temple Junior College in 1940, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Texas State University in 1942, and a Master of Science in Education Degree from Baylor University in 1972. Estherbell taught English for thirty years at Troy High School, at Lamar Junior High in Temple, and at Temple Junior College.

Estherbell married Jack Caesar on July 7, 1945. Estherbell was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Jack Benjamin Caesar, Jr., and also by her mother, her father, and her beloved sister, Elmora Messer Matthews.

Estherbell is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Jackye Kay Russell and John Stanley Russell: Debra Anne Woods and Doctor Larry Lee Woods: Nora Beth Winkler and Dean Otis Winkler. She is also survived by six grandchildren Jennifer, Kimberly, Stacie, Todd, Mandy and Molly and ten great grandchildren and three nephews, Rev. Neal Matthews, Cort Matthews, and Bruce Matthews, whom she loved very much.

Estherbell loved the Lord, loved her family, loved her friends, and loved her church, First Baptist Church of Temple.

A family service was held on Thursday Feb. 22, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Bellwood Memorial Park.

Scanio-Harper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
