

Eunice Mayes, age 93, of Temple died Sunday, July 4, 2010 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 6 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. John Roark and Dr. Cecil Rice officiating. Private burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Mrs. Mayes was born November 23, 1916 in Nolan County near Sweetwater to Charles Edward and Flora (Richardson) Rotan. She had been a resident of the Temple and Belton area for the past 34 years. She was a member of Keys Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, one sister and a daughter, Flora Whittle. Survivors include three sons, Robert Stehle of Temple, Gayland Stehle and wife, DeLaine of Houston, Glenn Stehle of Queretaro, Mexico, one daughter, Belva Barrington and husband, Tillman of Belton and three grandchildren, Rodger Barrington and wife, Linda, Ray Don Barrington and wife, Jane all of Friendswood, Sheri Cae Barrington of Killeen and three great-grandchildren, Kevin, Rae Nell and Heather. Also surviving are three sisters, Wanda Sumner of Abilene, Glenda Blair of Madisonville, Patsy Riddle and husband, Carroll of Brownwood and one brother, Harlon Perrin of Abilene. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Keys Valley Baptist Church.
