Eva was born on October 26, 1938, in Temple, Texas, to Pedro Salazar, Sr. and Petra (Martinez) Salazar. She was a lifelong resident of the Temple area. Eva was employed by Haywood Manufacturing and JCPenney before beginning a career with Belton Independent School District. She retired from Lakewood Elementary, where she worked as a custodian.
Eva was a natural caregiver whose greatest gift was making others feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. She was always ready to offer comfort, encouragement, and support to those around her. Within her family, Eva lovingly became a mother figure to many of her nieces and nephews, sharing with them the same tenderness, guidance, and unconditional love she had for those closest to her.
Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life and guided the way she treated others. Eva lived her faith through kindness, compassion, generosity, and a genuine concern for those in need. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, loving heart, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Salazar, Sr. and Petra (Martinez) Salazar; and her siblings, Pedro Salazar, Jr., Margarita Chairez, Catalina Resendez, Carmen Flores, Micaela Salazar, Canuto Salazar, Guillermo Salazar, and Jaquin Salazar.
She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the love, guidance, and memories she gave them. Though she had no children of her own, Eva's nurturing spirit and loving presence made her a mother figure to many, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she so generously cared for.
