

Evelyn A. Gamble, age 75, of Temple, Texas formerly of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at a local hospital. She was born on May 20, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Robert and Ann Dormois. Evelyn received a Bachelor's in Education from Pittsburg State University and began teaching. After a short time teaching Evelyn worked several jobs that allowed her to work with the public which was a true love of hers. She then became a bank teller for many years before her retirement. Evelyn had a great love for music having been an accomplished pianist and organist, enjoyed pampering her Chihuahua Princess, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Gail (Bret) Stafford of Belton, Texas, Steve (Della) Russell of Henderson, Texas, and Jeff (Shantel) Russell of Gladewater, Texas, her grandchildren; Robyn (Sam) Paiz, John (Carolyn) DeLao, Shane Stafford, Trent Stafford, David (Amy) Whitaker, Jessie Whitaker, Shelby (Michael) Powers, Brian (Heather Laverty) Russell, Christan (Justin) Delaney, and Wade Russell, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters; Glenda (Bob) Kimsey of Kansas City, Missouri and Peggy (Gene) Schmidt of Leewood, Kansas and a sister-in-law Beverly Hicks of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband John Gamble, her parents Glen and Ann Dormois, a brother Sid Hicks, a niece Stephanie Schmidt, and a nephew Greg Kimsey. A time of gathering will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, TX. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, at 10:00am at the funeral home followed by an interment at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
