
Frank T. Kuban, age 86, of Temple died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at his residence. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 1, at First Christian Church in Temple with Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 PM Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mr. Kuban was born April 8, 1921 in Caldwell to Frank and Anna (Kubin) Kuban. He moved to Temple at an early age and graduated from Temple High School in 1939. He also attended Baylor University. He was a veteran of World War II in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a part of the South Pacific Invasion Team on Guam and Iwo Jima. He married Bobbye Jo Johnson on February 20, 1949 in Altus, Oklahoma. He retired in 1984 as a civil engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad after more than 40 years of service. Mr. Kuban was a member of First Christian Church in Temple where he was Elder Emeritus and also was past president of the Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Miladie Coleman, Frances Bunyard and Lenora Kuban. Survivors include his wife, Bobbye of Temple, one daughter, Melissa Cain and husband, Dennis of Rockwall, two sons, Greg Kuban of Temple, Robert Kuban and wife, Kathy of Nacogdoches, six grandchildren, Jennifer Kuban of Beverly Hills, California, Robert Kuban, Jr. and wife, Cortney of Nacogdoches, Matt Kuban of Nacogdoches and Landon, Austin and Morgan Cain of Rockwall and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Kuban-Barron of Beverly Hills, California. Also surviving is one sister, Dorothy Kuban and one brother, Fred Kuban both of Temple. Pallbearers are Dal Coleman, Kenny Coleman, Howell Coleman, David Vick, Wes Morris and John Troy. Honorary pallbearer will be Fred Kuban. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 300 N. 5th St., Temple, Texas 76501.
