Graveside services for Franklin Hall Butler, 90, of Heidenheimer were held Friday at Lawler Cemetery. Mr. Butler died Friday in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Butler was born July 4, 1923 in McComb, Mississippi to Franklin Howard Butler and Fay Hall Butler. He married Audrey Chaffin August 31, 1947 in Venice, California. She preceded him in death in 2008. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 40 years attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. He earned an Engineering Degree from Mississippi State and worked as an Engineer for McDonald Douglas Aircraft as a landing gear designer. He moved to Heidenheimer, from Long Beach, California in 2006 and was a member of Taylor's Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter Janie Butler Lawler of Heidenheimer; his son James Hall Butler of Longmont, Colorado; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Taylor's Valley Baptist Church. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
