Graveside services for Gene Erwin Buck, 82, of Gatesville will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday September 22, 2009 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Navy Honors. Mr. Buck died Saturday at his residence. Mr. Buck was born in Dallas to Charles Wesley Buck and Iona Dedrick Buck. He lived in Dallas and Moffat before moving to Gatesville. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Alma Faye Vaughn August 31, 1985. He worked as an electrician, being a member of IBEW Local #20 in Dallas. He was a member of the Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Scottish Rite, Hella Temple and a member of VFW Bell Post 1820 in Temple. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife Alma Buck of Gatesville; daughter Susan R. Thomas of Gun Barrel City; one son Larry Buck; four stepdaughters Brenda Patterson of Hamilton, Lanette Cathey of Gatesville, Julianne Bair of Duncanville and Jennilee Brodnax of Duncanville; five grandchildren Derek Patterson, Chance Cathey, Caitland Cathey, Shawn Veltman and Scott Veltman.
