Genevieve M. Karn, age 100, of Temple died Sunday, October 9, 2011 in a local nursing center. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 13 at the Floca Memorial Pavilion at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 12, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Ms. Karn was born on April 27, 1911 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John W. and Alice (Edwards) Shibler. She earned a bachelor's degree in French and German from Chatham College in Pittsburgh and worked for Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company before retiring in 1973. She had been a longtime resident of Temple. Survivors include her son, William A. Karn and wife, Patricia of Bellevue, Washington and her niece and nephew, Nancy and Carl Cooper of Temple.
