Georgia Sodek

Funeral services for Georgia P. Sodek, 85, of Temple will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday August 21, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Sodek died Saturday in a Temple Nursing Center. Mrs. Sodek was born at Ratibor to George Pavlica and Francis Adamek Pavlica. She attended school in Lost Prairie and lived in Temple most of her life. She married Albin B. Sodek October 4, 1939. They owned and operated Parkview Grocery for twenty six years, having retired in 1986. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was active with the Altar Society. She was a member of SPJST Lodge 47. She loved to quilt and bake and loved Czech music and always had food on hand for any occasion. Mrs. Sodek was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter Debbie Schneider, one sister Dorothy Jones and one brother George Pavlica. Survivors include two sons Douglas W. Sodek and his wife Betty of Temple and Charles Ray Sodek and his wife Sharon of Sandia; son - in - law Russell Schneider of Belton; two brothers Johnnie Pavlica and his wife Georgia and Raymond Pavlica and his wife Kathy all of Temple; two sisters Martha Palla and Irene Beran and her husband Jamie all of Temple; six grandchildren Denise Gay, Lisa Richardson, Janna Bonnett, Bill Schneider, Mitchell Sodek and Alan Sodek and five great grandchildren Carson Hosch, Ryley Richardson, Lexie Richardson, Jay Bonnett and Jennie Bonnett. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Altar Society or to Lighthouse Hospice. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., with a Rosary at 7 P.M. Monday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
