Gery Wayne Schneider

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Saint Luke Catholic Church in Temple, Texas, with a Rosary beginning at 10:00 a.m. Rite of committal will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Cyclone, Texas.

Gery was born on December 27, 1960, in Cameron, Texas, to George Lee Schneider and Leeola Eloise (Richter) Schneider. He was a lifelong resident of Central Texas, having lived in Heidenheimer, Temple, and Belton.

He graduated from Academy High School in 1979 and later attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he earned his degree in 1992. Gery was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church.

Gery had a deep love for football, especially UMHB and Academy football. He also enjoyed cycling and snow skiing. Known for his warm and outgoing personality, Gery truly “never met a stranger” and made lasting impressions on everyone he encountered.

Gery was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sisters, Angela Bailey and husband John, D’Ann Beck and husband Steve; and brother, Al Schneider and wife Malane; Gery loved his nieces, nephew, and great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
