

Harold Gene Pimpler, 76, of Temple passed away suddenly June 8, 2016. Harold was born July 1, 1939 in Cameron, Texas to Edmund and Anita Adler Pimpler. Baptized as an infant and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, Harold’s deeply rooted Christian values permeated every aspect of his life and he was selflessly devoted to his family and friends. His calm gentle strength enriched the lives of all those around him. Harold graduated from Yoe High School in Cameron in 1957 and, in April 1960, he married his best friend and love of his life, Carol Ann Boyls. Always inseparable, Harold and Carol’s commitment to each other was inspiring. Over the next 55 years in Temple, they participated in numerous church and civic organizations together. A long-time active member of First Lutheran Church, Harold served on the church council and various committees over the years. Harold and Carol have one daughter, Sheila who, along with her husband Keith Haddock and son Hunter, lives in Clear Lake, Texas. Harold leaves behind an unmatched legacy as a devoted husband, loving and supportive father and doting grandfather. A life-long car enthusiast, Harold sought out additional training and educational opportunities with Ford Motor Company. He transformed a teenage passion into a successful career that spanned more than 45 years. Always abreast of the latest developments and technology, Harold built a reputation among his peers as an expert in parts management. He was always willing to lend advice and eagerly mentored the next generation of “parts men.” He received numerous awards and served in leadership positions in several Ford-sponsored organizations. A restorer and collector as well, Harold was the proud owner of several award-winning Ford Mustangs and enjoyed participating in clubs and community events with others who shared his passion. In addition to Carol, Sheila, Keith and Hunter, Harold’s survivors include the following: brother, Donald Ray Pimpler and wife Peggy; sisters-in-law Gloria Jackson and Lana Wood and husband Jerry; nieces Jill Popelka and husband Jimmy and Jennifer Wood; nephews Eric Pimpler and wife Shanon and Grant Pimpler and wife Kristen; and great nieces and nephews, Whitney, Elizabeth, Jaxson, Abigail and Sydney Pimpler, Kaylie and Cole Popelka and Khloe Wood. Services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Temple Saturday June 11 at 11 a.m.with burial to follow at Bellwood Cemetery in Temple. Pallbearers will be Keith Haddock, Randall Pimpler, Jimmy Popelka, Bobby Haddock, Kirk Haddock and John Scholten. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carroll Lee Pimpler, Jerry Wood, Wayne Heugatter, Les Heugatter, John Cosper, and Jerry Korn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harold’s name to First Lutheran Church or any charity of choice.
