

Helen Louise Simcik, age 91, of Belton, formerly of Temple. Texas passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at a local care center. She was born on March 30, 1932 in Taylor, Texas the daughter of Alfred and Louise (Thaler) Pasemann.
A visitation will take place on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas 76504.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10:30am at First Lutheran Church, 1515 W. Adams Ave. Temple, Texas 76504. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery, 11463 TX-195 Killeen, TX 76542.
On February 4, 1953 in Taylor, Texas, Helen married Albert Simcik. They later moved to Austin for about 10 years before making their home in Temple in the mid 1960's. Helen was primarily a homemaker having raised her children and also worked for E.R. Carpenter retiring in the 80’s. Most recently she enjoyed organizing bus trips and cruises for friends and family and spending time knitting and quilting.
Helen is survived by her daughter Cheryl Mraz of Temple, 8 grandchildren, Kevin Morano of Corpus Christi, Jason Morano and wife Selene of Corpus Christi, Misty Andersen of Temple, Brad Andersen and Caroline Cruze of Lakeway, Donald Heisch of Austin, Jennifer Mraz and Aden Hochstetler of Harker Heights, Troy Heisch and wife Monica of Salem, OR, and Justin Saffle of Austin, and 6 great-grandchildren, Bennett and Lucia Andersen, Lyrik and Liam Hochstetler, and Natalie and Adaline Heisch.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Simcik, parents Alfred and Louise Pasemann, daughters, Cindy Saffle and Candy Rosen, a sister Mildred Pasemann, and a brother Earhart Pasemann
