Born at Travis Air Force Base, California, Isaac was the beloved son of Jamie and Jasmine (Dewbre) Lucero. Though his time on earth was far too brief, Isaac was known for his gentle spirit, his great generosity to all who knew him, and an inquisitiveness that made him seem like a walking encyclopedia.
“Ikey” will be remembered as the baby that his dad delivered at home. His sister Kendra remembers getting to be the first to hold him and having to put a pink hat on him because they thought he was going to be another girl. He will also be remembered as the toddler who was always trying to get into the candy bucket, even climbing the fridge to do so.
Like his dad, Isaac had a gift for working with his hands. One time he came in from working on Hannah’s car and was appalled at the state of her brakes, saying she had worn them down to the metal. He was especially proud of his 1967 MGB – driving Cooper and Spencer around in it and teaching Cooper to drive stick shift in the Spare Time parking lot.
Isaac had a passion for cooking. Friends and family will always remember how he showed his love for others in whipping up something good to eat, like his homemade fettuccine alfredo. He worked at Spare Time as a cook and would bring Maddie food from his work and help out at her apartment at a moment’s notice --taking out the trash, bringing in groceries and loving on Lola and Luey. His little brother Hudson would wait for him to get off work in the evenings, hoping he would also bring him goodies from work. His coworkers always spoke of his strong work ethic, willingness to help wherever needed, and cheerful personality.
A special memory of his mom and dad is when he would come in from work late at night and lay down next to his mom in bed and talk to them until they couldn’t keep their eyes open.
A devoted gamer, Isaac spent countless hours playing online with his brothers and friends from across the country, creating and strengthening relationships over grinding for resources, building bases, defending what they had built, and jumping into battle together. “Miner” loved playing Ark, Rust, and Deadlock with his brothers, Tristan and Cooper, and his friends. In the evenings before he went to bed, he would keep Spencer up way past his bedtime playing Paper Mario 64.
Isaac was an active member of the Cen-Tex Christian Homeschool Community, where he formed lasting friendships and touched many lives with his quiet kindness and genuine heart. Friends fondly remember him bringing in snacks and drinks to share or bringing in a comically giant gallon jug of chocolate milk to drink from.
Isaac deeply loved his family. He was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend whose gentle spirit, big smile, and caring nature will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was truly a good boy.
Above all else, Isaac loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know Him. He spent time learning and worshipping with his friends at Trinity Church youth group.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Jamie and Jasmine Lucero of Temple; his siblings, Kendra Albright and her husband, Jason, of Manor; Tristan Lucero of Austin; Maddie, Hannah, Cooper, Spencer, and Hudson Lucero all of Temple; his beloved nieces and nephews, Logan, Madison, Winnie, Ohana, Lola, and Luey; his grandparents, Epifanio and Beatrice Lucero and Lamonte Dewbre; his great-grandmother, Barbara Cooper; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing him.
Isaac was preceded in death by his grandmother, Julia Dewbre, his beloved companion and buddy during his toddler years.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
A celebration of Isaac's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Trinity Church in Temple.
Although Isaac's life was far too short, the love he shared, the friendships he built, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever. He will be incredibly missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
