

Jack, "Poppy", "Sweet Buttons", Norris, 80, of Morgan's Point Resort, joined Jesus in Heaven on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Norman Hilt Norris and Kate Houser Norris, and sisters, Josephine Hale, Fae Shipe and Dorothy Jo Wilhoit. Jack was born on February 27, 1933, in Limestone, TN. He graduated from Washington College High School in Tennessee. As a Korean Veteran, he served in the U.S. Army as part of 88th Recon in Trieste, Italy. He retired from United Airlines as a supervisor in Customer Service after 35 years. Jack was a Past Master of Rhea Lodge #47 in Jonesborough, Tennessee, as well as a current member of Belton Lodge #166 in Belton, TX, where he was awarded the prestigious "Golden Trowel Award" for exceptional service in 2012. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason/York Rite Mason and was a member of the Jericho Shrine in Kingsport, TN, with membership transfer to Karem Shrine in Waco, TX. While being an active member of Eastern Star/Vashti Chapter #32, serving the office as Chaplain; and current Worthy Patron of Belton Chapter #589. Jack was well known' for his help with transporting the crippled and burned children for appointments to and from the Shrine Hospital in Greenville, SC and Cincinnati, OH. While Jack was a Christian at an early age, he rededicated his life in 1977 and while living his life for the Lord, proved to be a great mentor and leader for his family. He became a Deacon, ordained for the same and true to scripture, would minister to widows and less fortunate. His personal worship and current church home is Fellowship Baptist Church where the Celebration of Life Service will be held. A most treasured memory for Jack was a mission trip ministry to a children's home in Mexico, while serving with his wife, Nita, Pastor and good friend Mell Plunk, and his wife Suzie. He loved the kids! Jack is survived by his wife Nita, of 60 years and their children, Ann, Vickie, Danny; sons in-law Bob & Nick; 10 grandchildren, Chasity, Christina, Cody, Bobby, Corey, Shara, Jessica, Christopher, Courtney, and Shana; nine great grandchildren, Landon, Jackson, Mason, Ayden, Anna Grace, Kennedy, Cayden, Annabelle, and Addison; and sister, Martha Bird, Greeneville, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. We will have a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., Fellowship Baptist Church, 2025 Morgan's Point Road, Belton, TX 76513 with Pastor Mell Plunk and Pastor Jeremy Franks officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or other offerings, please consider making a donation in the name of Jack Norris, to The Shriner's Hospital.
