Jack N. Smith

Jack N. Smith, age 90, of Temple passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at a local hospital. He was born on April 23, 1928 in Belton, Texas the son of Law and Edna Smith.A visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd Temple, Texas 76513.Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:00am at the First Church of the Nazarene 5000 S. 31st St. Temple, Texas 76502. Jack served his country in the United States Navy and on January 30, 1949 in Temple he married Jessie Brooks. He went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad having retired after 40 plus years of service, and was a member of Temple’s First Church of the Nazarene where he had helped at many of a bereavement lunch cooking in the kitchen.  Jack deeply loved his wife Jessie and his family.He is survived by his wife Jessie Smith of Temple, children; David Smith and his wife Laura of Dallas, Ronald Smith and his wife Joy of Belton, and Susan Goodman of Arlington, Grandchildren Jana Groff and husband Chris of San Antonio and Jamie Smith of Belton, and four great-grandchildren; Jewel, Summer, Owen, and Austin.
