
Funeral services for James Don Ison, 82 of Temple will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. David Harbour officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Ison died Thursday in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Ison was born in Blaine, Kentucky to James Ira Ison and Loretta Good Ison. He married Lula Rogers July 10, 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force, during Korea and Vietnam, for twenty one years. After discharge from the Air Force he worked for South Plains College in Levelland for twenty two years as the Maintenance Supervisor. He moved to Temple eight years ago and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Levelland and Eastern Star. Survivors include his wife Lula Ison of Temple; three daughters Donna Parker and her husband Chuck of Belton, Sandra Gregory and husband Mickey of Lago Vista and Gail Vaughn and husband Rex of Spur; four brothers Howard Ison of Tampa, Florida, Bob Ison of Columbus, Ohio, Curtis Ison of California and Clayton Ison of Columbus, Ohio; one sister Christine Mullins of Georgia; fifteen grandchildren Cora Creamer and her husband James of Temple, Amber Risinger of Belton, Clayton Pool of Austin, Lindsay Rotramel of Austin, Ira Rotramel of Brownfield, Gabriel Rotramel and wife Latisha of Lubbock, Rene Cervantez and husband Israel of Lubbock, Matthew Pool of Levelland, Liz Parker of Belton, Katie Rhyne and husband Josh of Abilene, Scarlet Gregory of Abilene, David Vaughn of Lubbock, Daniel Vaughn of Spur, T.J. Vaughn of Austin and Josh Vaughn of Austin; fourteen great grandchildren Tori Solis, Justin Creamer, Logan Creamer, Kaelyn Creamer all of Temple, Amelia Creamer of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Madison Pool of Austin, Gage Lafler of Abilene, Sophia Rotramel of Belton, Gabriella Rotramel, Lilly Rotramel, Kai Rotramel, Kia Rotramel, Jazzlynn Cervantez and Jason Cervantez all of Lubbock and one great great grandchild Nathaniel Myron of Temple. Memorials may be made to Memory Care Unit at William R. Courtney State Veterans Home or to Lakeview Baptist Church.
