
James R. Berg, age 70 of Temple, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his residence. Memorial services will be at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, April 25th at First Baptist Church in Temple. Mr. Berg was born March 22, 1947 in Pampa, TX to James H. and Kathleen Berg. He graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo in 1965 and then graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Business from West Texas State University. He married the love of his life, Karen Golladay, on August 5, 1967. He pursued a career as a purchasing agent at Affiliated Foods and Save A Stop in Amarillo before moving to Temple in 1985 to work for McLane Company, Inc. He continued to work for McLane Company as a purchasing agent for 32 years until he passed. He was also a faithful member of FBC Temple for the last 24 years and enjoyed singing in the choir. He took great delight in being with his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Berg of Amarillo. Survivors include his wife of Temple; a son, Chad Berg and wife Cindy; a daughter, Stephanie Davis and husband Danny; seven grandchildren; his father, James H. Berg, of Amarillo; a sister, a brother, and four nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Music Ministry Memorial Fund at First Baptist Church of Temple, 8015 W. Adams Ave., Temple, TX 76502.
