James Sawyer

Graveside services for James Keith Sawyer, 58, of Houston, formerly of Temple, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Bellwood Memorial Park with Rev. Jakie Shirley officiating. Mr. Sawyer died Thursday Feb. 28, 2008 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Sawyer was born in Temple to Joe Frank Sawyer and Ruth Ann Pechal Sawyer. He graduated from Temple High School, Connelly Tech in Waco and Central Texas College in Killeen and earned a Master of Art in Psychology. He married Sandra K. Bragg August 28, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He served in the Marine Corp during Vietnam. He worked for Sawyer Machine and Manufacturing in Temple and was a race car mechanic and driver. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ken Sawyer. Survivors include his wife Sandra Bragg Sawyer of Houston; two daughters Erin Nicole Schulze and her husband Charles Schulze of Houston and Lisa Carol Sawyer of Arlington, Virginia and one granddaughter Emily Ruth Schulze of Houston. Memorials may be to Sagemont Church, Living Proof Project, 11300 S. Sam Houston Tollway East Houston, Texas 77089. Scanio Harper Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
