Janet Marie Green

Janet Marie Green, age 89, of Temple, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Born on September 22, 1935, in Austin, Texas, to Vernon Miller and Angie Pollak, Janet spent her formative years in Temple, where she attended Temple ISD Schools.

Janet was united in marriage to Chester Green, a union that spanned 65 years until his passing. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, marked by shared joys and challenges.

Janet had a passion for real country music and college football, especially the Texas Longhorns. She was a devoted member of St. Luke Catholic Church. Professionally, she was employed by Service Merchandise for 15 years in Customer Service, after raising 4 children where she was known for her dedication and kindness.

She is survived by her son, Terry Green and his wife Melanie; daughter, Yvonne Griffith and her husband Allen; son, Chris Green and his wife Julie; and daughter, Tricia Mitchell and her husband Brian. Janet was a proud grandmother to Brittany Walthall, Dillon Green, Hunter Mitchell, Gracie Green, and Liv Mitchell, and a cherished great-grandmother to Alexi Walthall and Jayci Walthall.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Miller and Angie Pollak, and her beloved husband, Chester Green.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 1:30 PM at Bellwood Memorial Park, with Fr. John Guzaldo officiating.
