Janis M. Lockhart

Janis M. Lockhart, age 73, of Temple died Saturday, July 23, in Round Rock. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 26 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Loudin officiating. Burial will be private. Mrs. Lockhart was born on February 14, 1938 in Amarillo to Arthur Ray and Thelma (Gallegly) Mansfield. She was reared and educated in Amarillo. She married Ted R. Lockhart on December 17, 1955. They lived in Amarillo and Temple for the past 20 years. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of Taylor's Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, B. F. and Charles Mansfield. Survivors include her husband, Ted R. Lockhart of Temple, two sons, Shayne Lockhart and wife, Kim of Leander, Garren Lockhart and wife, Canice of Belton, Missouri and two grandchildren, Josh Lockhart and wife, Jeanne of Round Rock and Allison Shoot and husband, Ed of Dublin. Also surviving are three sisters, Frankie Joyce Smith and husband, Walter of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Colleen Hammonds of Plano and Diana Hickmott and husband, Al of Fredericksburg, Virginia and one brother, J. D. Mansfield of Gun Barrel City. Memorial donations may be made to Scott & White Cancer Research or Taylor's Valley Baptist Church.
