J.C. Gossett

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 10:30am at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas 76504 followed by a burial at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas.

J.C. will lie in state Friday evening on May 29th at the funeral home.

He served his country in the United States Army, and worked for many years as the supervisor for the nurse’s aides at the VA Hospital in Temple retiring in 1980. After retirement he enjoyed spending his time farming.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara McHargue of Temple and Cindy Stone and husband Bob of Little River, grandchildren, Angela Dickson and husband Brad of Belton, Frog Stone and wife Christy of Rogers, Jason Stone of The Grove and Russell MaHargue and his wife Marcie of Austin, great-grandchildren, Jessica Dickson of Austin, J.C. Dickson of Belton, Colton Stone and wife Lauren of Troy, Austin Stone and wife Bailey of Temple, Travis Stone of Rogers, Logan Stone of Belton and Robyn MaHargue of Bastrop, and a great-great granddaughter Madison Stone of Troy.

J.C. was preceded in death by his wife Penny Gossett, his parents, and a Brother Herschel Gossett.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Heights Baptist Church 1220 S 49th St, Temple, TX 76504 would be appreciated.
