Jerry H. Weathers

Jerry Hale Weathers, age 63 of Temple, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at his residence of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 16, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Jerry's last days were spent surrounded by friends, family and the caring staff of Texas Hospice. He was born August 4, 1950 in Temple to Edwin C. and Billie E. McPherson Weathers. He was raised in Temple where he retired from Wilson Art. He later worked for Service Merchandise and Dillard's Department Store. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jason H. Weathers. Survivors include his sisters, Anna Weathers of Temple and Mary Pippins of Belton and son, Justin M. Weathers and wife, Michel of Round Rock. Anyone that knew Jerry knew he was loyal, a true friend, an animal lover and a doting father. He had a stout appreciation for history, western movies and could hold his own on Jeopardy. He was a wonderful man who was kind to everyone he met. He will be missed by all who knew him.
