
Funeral services for John Harvey Friesner Jr., 81, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Turner officiating. Burial will be in Temple Garden of Memories. Mr. Friesner died Sunday May 13, 2007 in a Temple hospital. Mr. Friesner was born in Grundy Center, Iowa to John Harvey Friesner Sr. and Kathryn Richards Friesner. He married Dolores Sweeney August 26, 1954. He served in the Navy during World War II and during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Arlington Baptist Seminary and Texas A & M University. He lived in Amarillo for many years before moving to Temple in 1971. He was the Building Trades instructor at Temple High School from 1971 to 1992. He was also a school bus driver. Mr. Friesner was a member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church, American Legion Post 133 and had been a member of Christian Motorcycle Road Riders Association. Mr. Friesner was preceded in death by one brother Vernon Friesner and one sister Rachael Todd. Survivors include his wife Dolores Friesner of Temple; two sons John Luke Friesner of Temple and Vincent Leslie Friesner of Chicago, Illinois; three daughters Kimberly McBroom of North Pole, Alaska, Christine Hill and Sandra Jerritt both of Kansas; one brother Theodore Friesner of Missouri; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. Wednesday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
