John Malcik Jr.

John Malcik Jr., affectionately known as "Pawpaw," passed away at 92 years old on July 19, 2026, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew him. John was the epitome of a devoted husband, standing steadfastly by his wife Ileen through every challenge until her death. He was a father, cherished grandpa, and adoring great-grandpa.

John proudly served his country for 12 years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft crew chief. His discipline and mechanical skill followed him into his civilian life, where he went on to build a career working for the railroad and later in manufacturing. John was a man who truly understood the value of hard work, a trait that was deeply rooted in the family farm where he spent most of his life. He found peace, purpose, and joy in tending to the land that raised him.

Known for his quick wit and bright, welcoming smile, John brought happiness and joy wherever he went. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him was embraced by his incredibly warm personality.

Family meant the world to him, and he took immense pride in his loved ones. John held a special place in his heart for his grandson Stephen and his wife Contessa Malcik, as well as his great-granddaughters Rylee and Zoey, who were his absolute pride and joy.

The world is undeniably darker without John in it, but his legacy of love, laughter, and hard work, as well as his countless stories, will echo in the memories of those he left behind.
