Jose Tereso Silva

Jose Tereso Silva, age 65 of Temple, died Friday December 20, 2013 in a Temple hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, December 27, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Melesio Peter Espinoza officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00 pm Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Jose was born on October 15, 1948 in Mexico to the late Jose Silva and Anastacia Hernandez Silva. He attended schools in Mexico and moved to Temple in 1963 where he lived until his death. He married Raquel Gandara on July 25, 1970 and she preceded him in death on April 11, 2003. Jose worked WilsonArt for many years and retired due to his health. Jose also delivered clothes for Johnnie's Cleaners for many years. He was known to love partying, dancing, singing and having a good time. Jose was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Anastacia Silva and by his wife, Raquel Silva. Survivors include two sons, Jorge L. Silva and Jose A. Silva, both of Temple; a daughter, Sonia S. Salvador of Temple; two brothers, Santos Silva and Agustin Silva, both of Temple; a sister, Faustina Silva Gonzalez of Mexico; eleven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
